Literature Text

"Always keep an open mind and a compassionate heart."
Phil Jackson

"All animals are equal. But some animals are more equal than others."
GEORGE ORWELL

Hunting is not a sport. In a sport, both sides should know they're in the game.
Paul Rodriguez

NARRATOR (Voice over)
'We all have dreams of adventure, a life filled with action, accomplishment; something that makes us stand out from the average Joe, I doubt I'm the first person to ever say this, but I must warn you be careful some adventures can blow out of proportion, and turn into giant cataclysms of seismic Events, that lead to uncontrollable endings, I would know this, my story, of how I went from nothing to something 'I never asked to be what I am now, it's funny, physically I'm considered a monster, but now, I have never felt more human, before all this happened I was nothing, I existed, but wasn't existing, my life was meaning less until those creatures came into my life, I don't know why I did what I did, maybe I pitied them, these creatures, known by are government as "Xenomorphs" were like me, they Existed for someone else's pleasure, not freely for themselves, that's how I became part of their Hive,[laughs] that and they would have killed me if I didn't help them.'

NARRATOR (voice over)
'This story never really had a start; hundreds of light-years away from Earth lived the Yautja Race, one of the most power full species ever to exist, for the Xenomorphs, This intended bad news for them.'
'The Yautja didn't like it but, knew that times were changing, a new cultural move in their society was causing much grief for the elder Yautja hunters, their laws, that stood for thousands of years were beginning to dissolve into the modern Yautja Society. The young wanted a say, and wanted to change the rules around to their likings, sound familiar.'

FADE IN:
EXT. ANCIENT CITADEL/ YAUTJA PRIME-DAY
The Ancient Citadel, the palace to all Yautja warlords, priest, and elders, much of this species great culture revolves around this place, the Citadel however is the catacombs to all Yautja knowledge, and law, on the balcony stood VAN'ATOR, the wisest and most experienced Predator on Yautja Prime, but experience doesn't count for much these days, the politicians run most of the planet now, and make the rules, the mornings peaceful, the sounds of star ships and machinery had grinded to a halt, entering onto the balcony is TOO'TAN, TOO'TAN at only 26, he has already become an elite Predator, and Yautja Prime representative.

TOO'TAN
'Father I ask again that you reconsiders the position open for you in the new council.'

VAN'ATOR slowly turned around avoiding eye contact with TOO'TAN,

VAN'ATOR
'Tell me TOO'TAN, my son; do you consider me wise?'

TOO'TAN looked confused; the question that was brought forth to him was puzzling. TOO'TAN moves towards his father, [slowly]

TOO'TAN
'Father, your the greatest, and wisest hunter alive today, words cannot make out how important you are to the Yautja people.'

VAN'ATOR
'Important? No son, I've had my time, years ago I was considered important, but the times are changing, this next generation of Yautja mean new progress, but sometimes one must look back on the past to learn when progress is truly needed.'

TOO'TAN looks perplexed; he pulls out his Hunter Knife. The knife all Predators are awarded for surviving their first hunt.

TOO'TAN
'You still don't think I deserve the title of Elite Predator, don't you?'

VAN'ATOR doesn't answer the question right away; he now makes full eye contact with TOO'TAN

VAN'ATOR
'You're still very young TOO'TAN; Legend status cannot be obtained at such a young age, it never has and never will.'

TOO'TAN
I'm experienced, I've killed many Serpents, I destroyed a Serpent Hive, and I'm ready for anything farther [pulls out his Xeno Skull Buster]

VAN'ATOR
'Your combat skill, very impressive, but there is more to the hunt, then Trophy's, kills, and experience, the hunt is the path to enlightenment for us, the thrill, we live to die, so we choose to die with honour.'

TOO'TAN
'I understand, but…..'

VAN'ATOR
'Then you don't understand!'

TOO'TAN BECOMES VERY ANGRY AT VAN'ATOR, Hunter ships began to take off, all around the Citadel, cheering from Yautja young ones and Females, VAN'ATOR gave an irritated sigh.

VAN'ATOR
' I thought I made is specifically clear, that I did not want any hunters going out, until this mess Administration have made is cleaned.'

TOO'TAN
'They don't listen to you anymore…… Administration will do what they like, and what they like is hard meat blood.'

VAN'ATOR
'Things are changing my boy, you have much to learn from change, since you never have experienced it like I have [moves over to the balcony].'

VAN'ATOR calmly turns to his TOO'TAN.

VAN'ATOR
'the times are changing my boy, and not me, the wisest Hunter, by your word can stop it, the young want a say, in Yautja culture, and politics, but haven't had any experience to do so, the rules of the hunt have changed, now we fight for title's, and Trophy's, we don't respect are enemies like we used too, now due to this error caused by modern Yautja Culture, are enemies are on the brink of war with us.'

TOO'TAN
'Don't worry father, I doubt the Serpents will ever be able to stand the might of are superior intellect and technology [smiling].
'
VAN'ATOR
'Doubt is the first step to defeat my son, because of doubt in are enemies, we have heated tension between us and are prey, the Serpents, and I have no, doubt, that they will fight aggressively for their rights.'

TOO'TAN
'Your right doubt is the first step to defeat; you doubt modern Yautja intelligence, so this will bring your downfall [laughs].'

VAN'ATOR
'This isn't a game anymore son, we have taken the step over the line, now we must pay the price.'

TOO'TAN
'I have trained many Yautja, all ready to fight and die for the survival of are race.'

VAN'ATOR turns back to the balcony, he looks over the city.'

VAN'ATOR
'We are not soldiers, we are hunters, I have never fought in a war in my life, and I would never expect any young Yautja to die for me in such a foolish matter, but I guess war was inevitable for are race.'

TOO'TAN moves next to his father, both Hunters look over the city, the sun is beginning to set.

TOO'TAN
'Don't worry father, such primitive creatures can only do so much damage.'

VAN'ATOR lets out a groan

VAN'ATOR
'You have much to learn my son, much to learn.'

TOO'TAN begins to leave the balcony, thinking about what his father said to him, he turns to scowl at VAN'ATOR while his back was turned.'

TOO'TAN
'Maybe your right, maybe you aren't the wisest Hunter anymore.'

TOO'TAN storms out off of the balcony to attend the Council meeting with his brothers and members of Administration, VAN'ATOR, begins to laugh, smiling due to his sons incompetence.

VAN'ATOR
'Fools luck [laughing].'

VAN'ATOR stands silently to watch the sun go down, the wind begins to pick, and thunder begins to roar in the clouds.

VAN'ATOR
'A storm is coming.'

change for Changes sake is not progress,
ergo change is not ALWAYS a good thing!
those who do not learn from the past have no future!
